New Craft/Hobby

Day #184

 

I have started a new craft/hobby. You may think that its a waste of time, unusual, or even silly.

 (Just saying, I wish I could paint like my cousin Sheila, or my daughter in law Grace!! )

Going for walks, I often collect rocks, for the colors, shapes, smoothness, uniqueness. The rocks usually end up in the flower beds/pond. 

On one of our walks I found a" I (heart) PG"  stone. It was hidden at one of our local parks. I thought that was a cute idea. One day, I decided that I had a handful of rocks, and decided to paint them... hearts, flowers...I used nail polish!!  On the back of the stone I wrote simple words and sayings like... You rock, smile rocks, family rocks, love rocks, kindness rocks. 
When they were dry, I went out and hide them at one of  our local parks. 

Since then I have purchase acrylic paint and felts at the dollar store!  I have also discovered that there are Face Book pages... PGRocks, and Painted Rocks PG.  The idea is that you paint a rock, hide the rock, find a rock, keep the rock or re hide the rock, take a photo and post. I just paint and hide, so far about 3 dozen rocks!

New Hobby

 

Since I am not keeping my painted stones, I take a photo. I do tend to wonder who has found one of my stones..... 

So, there you are... my new craft/hobby...
