Macro/Frost

Day #246

We talk about Mother Nature and her control over the weather and nature itself. Then when winter hits us hard we complain about "Old Man Winter"! Then there is this fellow,
Jack Frost. He made his appearance today in Prince George, with the -12c weather after Mother Nature dumped a few inches of snow on us!

Jack Frost, never really had his own story, until movie producers decided he needed one. His name was simply used in tales, poems, and songs to ad some charm to winter. He would created fern-like spirals on our windows, and make us all very chilly.
In folklore, he was seen as an old man, sometimes a child, or a teenager. His mother thought to be Kari the Norse god of the winds, her son was named Jokul Frosti which translates to frosty icicle.

Today, Jack Frost danced around Prince George, painting frosty leaves with his magic!
So very pretty Jack!

It was fun walking around outside with camera in hand, trying to get a close up view of Jack Frosts masterpieces.

See you very soon,
